CCI4EU - Developing research skills for young researchers

Introduction
CCI4EU (Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures for the European Union) is a European project aiming to help Member States and Associated Countries improve or develop their existing or future Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures (CCIs), by helping develop their research & innovation-related capacities.
 
This course is the ninth of 10 online training courses organised within the project to help countries develop an effective comprehensive infrastructure and widen the reach of this grant. The topic of this online course is: Developing research skills for young researchers

The aim is to provide useful information and advice to young colleagues on how to develop a research project and a career as a researcher in oncology. International-level mentors will take part in the live portion of the course, with whom there will be an opportunity to interact by asking questions and proposing your own research idea (see more details below).

Target audience
Researchers, young researchers, physicians/clinicians as well as any personnel at hospital/clinics/CCIs or patient advocates who are interested in research,

Course delivery
To access the course, participants must register and login to the e-ESO platform. 

The first part of this course will be made available on this website by no later than 31 July 2025. There will be approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes of material. 
 
The second part of this online course will be held live on 25 September 2025 from 12.30 - 14:30 (CEST) via this webpage and will include a call for cases (see below).

Call for cases: the second (live) portion of the course will consist of four case studies:
two cases on clinical research
two cases on translational studies.
You can submit your case (powerpoint presentation) to sgoldman@eso.net by no later than 6 July 2025
Each case should be approximately 10-minutes long and include questions you wish to discuss with the Chairs and Experts during the live discussion.


The entire course will be recorded and will remain available as on-demand material.
 
Official language
The course will be held in English. Translations will not be provided. During the live streaming, Zoom subtitles will be available in all languages.
 
Registration
Registration to the course is free but mandatory. Registration will be confirmed by e-mail.
 
Certificate of attendance
Participants will be issued a certificate of attendance once they have completed a minimum attendance of 75% of the entire course. An online evaluation questionnaire must be completed in order to receive the certificate that will be issued by email. The evaluation questionnaire will appear in the right-hand column of the course page when participants have completed 75% of the course.
