This course is designed for healthcare physicians seeking to enhance their practical grant-writing skills. This comprehensive online course is structured to guide you through the process of writing a successful grant proposal. Starting with foundational concepts, we will explore advanced techniques to help you create compelling and persuasive proposals that stand out to grantors. The course covers critical aspects such as understanding grantor requirements, project planning, budgeting, and crafting a narrative that effectively communicates your vision.
 
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completing this course, participants will:
• Learn the Fundamentals: gain a solid understanding of the basic principles of grant proposal writing, including the importance of aligning your proposal to the grantor's mission and goals.
• Develop Project Planning Skills: learn how to create a well-structured project plan, outlining goals, activities, timelines, and milestones, in order to demonstrate the feasibility and potential impact of your project.
• Master Budgeting Techniques: acquire the skills required to develop accurate and transparent budgets that align with your project's needs and effectively convey the financial requirements to potential funders.
• Craft Compelling Narratives: hone your writing skills to create persuasive and engaging narratives that effectively convey the importance of your project, its objectives, as well as the expected outcomes.
• Enhance Proposal Presentation: understand the importance of supporting documents, including letters of support, resumes, and data, to make your proposal as airtight as possible and increase its competitiveness.
 
COURSE DELIVERY
This online course will be delivered through on-demand pre-recorded lectures available from 1 September 2024.
 
PREREQUISITES
This course is designed for individuals who have a basic understanding of project management and a keen interest in securing grant funding. While there are no specific prerequisites, participants are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the mission and requirements of potential grantors relevant to their field of work prior to the start of the program.

ACCREDITATION
Participants will be issued a certificate of attendance (minimum attendance: 75%). An online evaluation questionnaire and learning assessment test must be completed in order to receive the certificate that will be sent by email.
Application for CME recognition has been submitted to the Accreditation Council of Oncology in Europe (ACOE) and 5 CME credits have been granted to this event. The American Medical Association (AMA) and the Accreditation Council for Continuous Medical Education (ACCME) designate a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 credit per hour of activity for this type of educational program.
CME credits will be provided until 01.09.2026.
 
The course enables ESCO students to earn ESCO credits and, therefore, access more ESCO benefits. Full and active participation in the Course earns participants 5 ESCO credits.

Requirements: Completing the online course and earning one of the top ten grades on the respective learning test.
On 07.01.2025, the 10 students who have completed the online course with the highest exam grades will be invited to participate in an additional activity dedicated to writing a medical grant with Experts in the field.
This special opportunity will entail 3 live sessions with Experts who will be available to explain tips and pitfalls, to answer questions and dispel any doubts (the participants will be divided into smaller subgroups).
